How much does Scouts cost?
Each Group charges a different amount. The rough price range in Middlesbrough is between £25 - £50 per term (3 terms per year). Each Group also has its preferred payment method however most will accept Cash, Cheque or Bank transfers.
Where do Scouts meet?
We have 7 Groups across Middlesbrough District. 2 Groups in Acklam, 2 Groups in Tollesby, 1 Group in Linthorpe, 1 Group in Marton and 1 Group in Nunthorpe. Take a look at Our Groups page to see more information on Group locations.
What is Scouts?
The Scout Association is the largest Scouting organisation in the United Kingdom. Following the origin of Scouting in 1907, the association was formed in 1910 and incorporated in 1912 by a royal charter under its previous name of The Boy Scouts Association.
How does my child join?
If your child is wanting to join please fill in a from on our Join page. You will need to provide some contact information on the form and also select your preferred Group. Any entries are added to our waiting list and we will be in touch if a place opens up for your child.
How do I volunteer?
If you are wanting to Volunteer with us you need to complete the form on our Join page. You will need to provide some contact information as well as choosing your preferred role within Middlesbrough District. We will be in touch with any entries about getting you involved.
What are Sections?
Each Section is designed for a specific age Group and the necessary needs for the Youth who fit into that category. There are 6 Sections; Squirrels (4-6 Years), Beavers (6-8 Years), Cubs (8-10 Years), Scouts (10-14 Years), Explorers (14-18 Years) and Network (18-25 Years).
Do I have to Volunteer with the Youth?
No. There is plenty of District or support roles that you can Volunteer in that don't require you to work with the Youth all the time. From roles such as Treasurers to Public Relations, there is bound to be a role that you could take on within Middlesbrough Scouts.
How much commitment does it take?
As much or as little as you would like. There is no requirement of your time or specific schedule to be a Volunteer. We are happy to work around your own personal schedule and you only need to commit as much time as you choose to.
